During sessions, I'll teach you how to appropriately & confidently fuel your body with all foods without guilt. Eventually we'll close the rule book, and I'll teach you how to allow your body's wisdom guide you.

I will work with you to identify and challenge faulty and distorted beliefs about food, movement, and your body by teaching you the real science and through experimentation. I will encourage your curiosity about the reasons underlying your thoughts & behaviors. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, we'll work together to recalibrate your thoughts.

My approach can vary from lighthearted with a touch of humor and playfulness to direct and firm when it is appropriate & necessary. I have a very warm, personal style. It is important to me that you feel seen and understood and that you feel I am someone you can truly trust to support you through the very vulnerable, challenging journey of eating disorder recovery.

I am here to help you navigate the ups and downs of recovery with expertise, curiosity, compassion, and humor.

Find peace between the black and the white.

Whether you are struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, AFRID, orthorexia - or anything in between, I can help. I have worked at almost every level of care, so I am comfortable working with higher acuity and/or complex cases.

I work with all genders and ages, but because of my own experiences struggling with my own eating disorder growing up, I especially love working with adolescents and young women. I work closely with families who are so often in need of guidance in navigating this complex mental illness and their teens’ treatment. I also enjoy working with mothers during their perinatal years & beyond.

Additionally, I work with many clients who do not have an eating disorder but who have been stuck on the diet rollercoaster for years and years and are interested in anti-diet approaches to healthy living and finding a more peaceful way to live in their bodies.

I have extensive experience helping individuals with all types of eating disorder and mental health diagnoses navigate the path to recovery and healing.

Success Stories

When I came to Jessica, every food was bad and not exercising induced anxiety. I thought about food and exercise all the time and agonized about my body.  Now my relationships with food and exercise are positive, and I am mostly comfortable in my body. She is gentle, patient, and cautious of overwhelming, while still challenging you. I have always felt like she is there for me and that my journey is important to her. I highly recommend Jessica and will continue to sing her praises!

Personally, I hate talking about my feelings and issues, but with Jessica, everything felt so easy. Greeting me at the door with a smile always brightened my mood even on the hardest days. She listened to anything and everything I had to say and made me feel heard. I never felt alone because Jessica would bring up personal stories and events that related to what I was currently going through. Hearing that I am not the only one struggling or feeling this way helped me open up more than I would have ever imagined.

Before I met Jessica, I was very stubborn and did not want to recover in the slightest. I also had no faith that I would ever be able to recover. Although I may not be 100% recovered, I have proved my previous stubborn self wrong. I have made an extreme amount of progress in my recovery that was only possible with the help of Jessica Thompson. I never thought I could get to where I am today!
