End the war with food and your body & find peace between the
Hi, I'm Jessica Thompson, RD, an Eating Disorder Dietitian in Kansas City!
I have 12+ years of experience helping individuals find lasting recovery and peace from their eating disorder as a Registered Dietitian and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Consultant.
My specialty is treating children and adolescents and providing support to families in the eating disorder recovery process.

I believe that we were all born without food rules or guilt and shame about our weight and size, and we all deserve a chance to return to this place - a place marked by a peaceful relationship with food, movement, and our bodies. I can help you get back there.

Do you feel overwhelmed by thoughts about food or your weight?
It could be that you're struggling with disordered eating or an eating disorder or maybe you've experimented with diet after diet and you're ready to overcome the battle with food and your body once and for all...

There's a lot of diet culture noise out there that leaves individuals feeling lost and confused rather than confident and informed in knowing how to care for themselves. I can help you and your teen simplify nutrition and a path toward health. I can help you discover the empowerment and peace in the gray that lies between the myths and black & white rules you feel bound to.
Together, we will rewrite your story

I am passionate about guiding my clients in unpacking their relationships with food, movement, and their bodies to find true peace & healing.

I struggled with my own eating disorder & have been in recovery for over 20 years, so I understand my clients’ struggles on a deep level - and I know from personal experience that recovery is possible.

WORK WITH ME
my services

I am ready and willing to walk alongside my clients throughout their journey, regardless of where they are on their path.
Through highly individualized 1:1 sessions, whether in-person or virtually, I often work with clients from the ground-up, building a strong foundation and understanding about how to appropriately and strategically fuel their bodies with all foods, then working toward variety, flexibility, and eventually intuitive eating & gentle nutrition.
Along the way, with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts, I guide my clients to approach their relationship with food, movement, weight, and their body like a scientist. Together, we conduct a series of experiments, try new thoughts and beliefs on for size, and challenge old narratives & constructs that are proving to be more harmful than helpful.
The strong relationships and trust I build with my clients are some of the most powerful ingredients in their recovery.
