Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! I absolutely do.  I like to call these a "discovery call" because during it, we will get to know each other to see if we'd be a good fit.  I believe finding the right RD is crucial and can make all the difference. The strong relationship and trust I build with my clients are some of the most powerful ingredients in their recovery, and I want you to feel good about working together.

After our discovery call, if we're both feeling good, we will book an Initial Assessment to begin our work together!

What can I expect an assessment or a session to look like?

Prior to the initial assessment, a new client will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire answering questions about their physical and mental health, food intake & behaviors, physical activity, and body image.

In the initial assessment, we will review & dig deeper into the responses so I have a firmer understanding of the client’s health history and their relationship with food, movement, and your body. Together, we set goals for and establish an initial plan for our work together, including my clinical recommendations and session frequency. Sometimes it takes more than one time meeting to complete the assessment, establish goals, and to really get the ball rolling. For adolescent clients, I recommend at least one parent or guardian be present for part of the initial assessment.

In follow-up sessions, we will let the goals we established guide us. My clients leave each session with a goal or set of goals that we follow-up on the next session. In exploring challenges and successes, what I often remind clients is that we are scientists, conducting little experiments which we cannot pass or fail; results are data and light the path forward and that path is not a straight line.  I encourage my clients’ curiosity about the reasons underlying their thoughts & behaviors.

I consider the work I do to be “nutrition therapy” because what I’m most passionate about is guiding my clients in unpacking their often very complicated, layered relationships with food, movement, and their bodies.

My approach can vary from lighthearted with a touch of humor and playfulness to direct and firm based on what is needed and appropriate for each individual client during a session.

How long are sessions?

An initial assessment is 90 minutes long.

Do you take insurance?

Accepted Answer

I am in network with most (but not all) Aetna and Cigna insurance plans.

You can also use your HSA or FSA to pay for any balance remaining, including copays and co-insurance.

Upon request, I provide a SuperBill with a record of visits, fees, and diagnosis & procedure codes to aid clients paying out-of-pocket in seeking reimbursement. Some of my clients do have success in being reimbursed.

If I'm not using insurance and paying out-of-pocket, how much do sessions cost?

90-Minute Initial Assessment: $225
30-Minute Follow-up Session: $75
60-Minute Follow-up Session: $150

I do offer sliding scale fees for a limited number of clients in my caseload based on need.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. All missed sessions or sessions canceled within 24 hours of our appointment time will be charged at my full session rate.
