1:1 Nutrition Therapy

WITH JESSICA THOMPSON, MS, RD, LD, CEDS-C

I am here to help you or your loved one recover from your eating disorder and heal your relationship with food, body image, and exercise through highly personalized in-person or virtual nutrition therapy sessions.

Whether you are struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, AFRID, orthorexia - or anything in between, I can help. I have worked at almost every level of care, so I am comfortable working with higher acuity and/or complex cases.

I work with all genders and ages, but because of my own experiences struggling with my own eating disorder growing up, I especially love working with adolescents and young women. I work closely with families who are so often in need of guidance in navigating this complex mental illness and their teens’ treatment. I also enjoy working with mothers during their perinatal years & beyond.

Additionally, I work with many clients who do not have an eating disorder but who have been stuck on the diet rollercoaster for years and years and are interested in anti-diet approaches to healthy living and finding a more peaceful way to live in their bodies.

I have extensive experience helping individuals with all types of eating disorder and a variety of mental health diagnoses navigate the path to recovery and healing.

During sessions, I'll teach you how to appropriately & confidently fuel your body with all foods without guilt. Eventually we'll close the rule book, and I'll teach you how to allow your body's wisdom guide you.

I will work with you to identify and challenge faulty and distorted beliefs about food, movement, and your body by teaching you the real science and through experimentation. I will encourage your curiosity about the reasons underlying your thoughts & behaviors. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, we'll work together to recalibrate your thoughts.

My approach can vary from lighthearted with a touch of humor and playfulness to direct and firm when it is appropriate & necessary. I have a very warm, personal style. It is important to me that you feel seen and understood and that you feel I am someone you can truly trust to support you through the very vulnerable, challenging journey of eating disorder recovery.

I am here to help you navigate the ups and downs of recovery with expertise, curiosity, compassion, and humor.

Friends Having Coffee

I've made an extreme amount of progress in my recovery that was only possible with the help of Jessica Thompson.

Before I met Jessica, I had no faith that I would ever be able to recover. She was just the most helpful person for me when I was in treatment and I always looked forward to our sessions. She still was there for me even when I would lie to her... Although I may not be 100% recovered, I have proved my previous self wrong. I never thought I could get to where I am today!
